Nouveau is one of those concepts that people say: “They push the boundaries of yachting aesthetics to extraordinary proportions.” Designer Andy Waugh (Andy Waugh Yacht Design), who created it, drew inspiration from the masters of art nouveau – Czech artist Alphonse Mucha and Spanish architect Antonio Gaudi. Hence these organic, dynamism and graceful natural forms, which are so characteristic of the “floral” decorative and ornamental style and which are so rare in shipbuilding.
Dramatically intersecting wavy lines and a glass “lake” amidships hide spacious accommodations on two decks – the main and upper, reserved exclusively for the owner – with an impressive ceiling height of 2.7 meters. Continuous glazing gives the premises airiness, gives an atmosphere of unity with the outside world. The owner’s apartments have exits to graceful balconies located on both sides.
We also see mobile plant motifs on the open terraces, which, starting from the flybridge and ending with the aft area on the main deck, are interconnected by spiral staircases and aqueducts, along which water runs from the jacuzzi at the highest point to the pool at the lowest. Andy Waugh invites the passengers of this state-of-the-art high-tech vessel to feel connected to nature in such a very unusual way.
On the main deck, the designer has placed two VIP guest cabins with folding balconies, a dining and living room, a beach club and an infinity pool. Behind the wheelhouse there is a working office for the owner, a cabin for the crew and an open veranda with a dining area. The lower deck will be occupied by a living area for passengers and crew.
Andy Waugh warns that the project does not pretend to be practical. According to him, the Nouveau superyacht is aimed at the modern man with a relatively small personal environment, who prefers style and taste over size and efficient use of space
